Do you supply books at trade prices?

Under what terms do you accept books on Consignment?

Is there a returns policy?

Supplying books at trade prices
I am a retailer only, and as such I am not in a position to be able to sell books at wholesale prices - these are the prices at which I also purchase. In response to repeated requests however, I have devised the following Bulk Order Policy:

Bookaholics Bulk Order Policy

Where bulk copies are ordered of a single title, a discount will be given according to the following scale. Note that not all titles are eligible for this discount as they may have a very low mark-up. These titles are stocked for reasons other than commercial.

25%

As titles in any large quantity will usually have to be ordered in, a firm commitment is required for any bulk order placed with Bookaholics. To obtain any further information, contact Bookaholics at info@bookaholics.com.au

Note that postage is payable on all orders. The cheapest postal rates will be selected. Sometimes this will mean breaking a delivery into two separate parcels.

Books on Consignment

I will take books on consignment, provided that I think there is a market for that particular title from within my customer base. If sales are generated by a title listed on consignment, and it looks as though there will be ongoing demand, then I will consider purchasing outright.

When some authors list on consignment, they prefer to handle the distribution themselves. In that case I will advise them when an order has been received and forward payment to them. In general though, I prefer to have some stock on hand so that if a customer orders several different books, then the order can be sent in the one package thus saving on the postage and administration costs. At the very least, I need a copy of the book in order to scan it and place a description on the website. Although this is an online book store, on occasion customers will ring and ask about viewing the books in person and in that instance it definitely helps to have a copy for them to view.

The usual consignment fee is 40% of the book sale price. Members of the UTS Alumni Writers' Network should refer to the website for that group for information applicable to members of that network.

Returns Policy

We understand that purchasing via the internet can be a concern when you are not able to actually review the book or item first. For this reason, we are prepared to accept the return of books purchased under the following conditions.
1. You must contact us within a week of invoice date to advise of your wish to return the book.
2. The book must be returned as soon as possible in its original and saleable condition.
3. On receipt, either a refund will be issued, or a credit recorded against future purchases.
4. The cost of postage is not refunded.
